The Touch bar V3 has an integrated NFC tag which is programmed on the Booomtag platform.

  • WHAT ITS NOT ?
    • It is not a GPS tracker to find your stuff.
    • It is not a chip that collects data from you to sell to third parties.
    • It is not an electronic device that contains a battery.
  • WHAT IS IT THEN?
    • A NFC tag can be read with any modern smartphone.
    • Each tag has a unique identifier just like a serial number on the products.
    • In this case the tag is programmed for the Booomtag platform.
    • After scanning the tag you will see information regarding the product like, name, version plus, if you want, user defined information.
    • You can register your product for free on the Booomtag platform under your free account with all your other products that have the tag.
    • You first get privacy settings which you can adjust at any time.
  • WHAT DOES IT DO FOR YOU?
    • If your Ventum product gets stolen or lost, you can indicate this in your account. As of then the tag will not show the standard information but a clear message that the product is reported as lost with the action buttons you choose (call, sms, mail).
    • Others cannot get your name, number, or address by reading the tag. There are situations and professions where that may be preferred.
    • You can show ICE (in case or emergency) numbers when someone reads the tag.
    • You can show important medical information when someone reads the tag.
    • You can receive information regarding recalls or other safety information.
    • If you give permission, you will receive information about upcoming upgrades, replacement offers and maintenance advice.
  • WHAT DOES IT DO FOR VENTUM?
    • The tag gives each product a unique identification number which helps to identify affected products in case of manufacturing defects.
    • The tag allows us to stay in touch! Ventum does not send general newsletters by mail but with your Booomtag account you can register to receive information and offers related to your products and situation.

Bar Width

A wider bar will provide more steering input to the kite compared to a smaller bar when they are pulled in the same angle.

  • Kites smaller then 7m are best flown with the 45cm wide bar.
  • Kites larger then 7m are best flown with the 51cm wide bar.
  • 7m kites can be flown with both bars depending on your preference.
  • People that do especially unhooked tricks may prefer a 45cm wide bar on all kite sizes.
  • Beginner tip: Don’t keep your hands at the bar ends but learn to keep your hands in the center of the bar as much as possible.

Line Length

Longer lines make the kite travel through the power zone for longer creating a bigger momentum. Momentum is required to pull you out of the water and get you going. It will also increase height of jumps. On the counter side, the kite gets less direct and reactive when providing he same steering input.

  • Kites smaller then 7m are best flown with the standard 22.5m bars.
  • Kites of 7m and larger are best flown with the standard 22.5m bar for tricks, megaloops and waveriding.
  • Kites of 7m and larger are best flown with 2.5m extensions for simple freeride and high jumps.
  • Kites of 15m are best flow with 4m extensions as using this big size of kite implies low wind / heavy riders hence the extra momentum is helpful.
  • 2.5m and 4m extensions are optional and not included with the bar.

Low V versus High Y

This option allows you to slightly tweak the kites feel to your personal preference. The low V provides a bit more connected feel whereas the high Y provides a bit smaller turning radius.

  • On the Xcite a high Y may accommodate in learning to kiteloop.
  • On the Xplore a high Y may accommodate in a comfortable learning curve.
